ACP Pop-up: An Evening with José Kozer
The American Communities Program kicks off the year’s pop-up programming at downtown L.A.’s The Last Bookstore, with this reading by the acclaimed poet José Kozer. The son of Central European Jewish immigrants, Kozer was born in Cuba but relocated to New York City in early adulthood. In dozens of books of poetry, he has complexly explored the experience of exile, the power of displacement, and the potential of historical memory. In 2013, he was awarded the prestigious Pablo Neruda Ibero-American Poetry Prize.
